Kansas Joins Compact!

Today Kansas Gov. Mark Parkinson signed HB 2552 into law, which enacts the Midwest Interstate Passenger Rail Compact in that state. Kansas is the 11th state to join the MIPRC.


The legislation's lead sponsor was Rep. Jo Ann Pottorff. Welcome, Kansas, and thank you, Rep. Pottorff for guiding the legislation all the way!!

Thank you, as well, to the active support of the Northern Flyer Alliance, an advocacy group promoting the extension of the current Amtrak Heartland Flyer service between Forth Worth, TX and Oklahoma City, OK up from Oklahoma City through Kansas to Kansas City.
